Hybrid Bicycles

Want to save some bucks from petrol of car driving occasionally and at the same time having fun with cycling around urban or suburban area? Owning a suitable bicycle is a solution for that. What about buying a hybrid bicycle? What is hybrid bicycle? Not easy to define, actually; but some hints are available.
A hybrid bicycle is more understood as a bicycle that designed in a best effort to accommodate the best features of a road bicycle and a mountain bike. So, when you visit a bicycle shop and take the first glance of them, you may get the impression that the bicycle is just a mountain bicycle with some road bicycle's characteristics.

These are the characteristics of a typical hybrid bicycle:
- Larger 700c wheels (makes it more efficient than a normal mountain bicycle)
- Wider rims and tyres than a typical road bicycle make it stronger than road bicycle
- Flat or nearly flat handlebars (similar to a mountain bicycle) allows the rider to sit in a more comfortable and upright position
- 18 to 27 gears just like most of the mountain bicycles
- May have front suspension forks (not a feature for road bicycles)
- Good for long rides on paved surfaces if comfort is your priority
